Tips for New Families
Entering a new school can be stressful. Lucky for you, our Stratford Hall community is here to help you transition into our school. Stratford Hall is pleased to offer a number of events and resources to new students and their families.
Here are a few examples of what we offer:
A buddy family program, where we pair up an incoming family with a current family.
Accepted students in Grades 2 and above may attend a "shadow day". This allows for your child to experience everyday life at Stratford Hall.
At the end of August, we host a meet and greet park play date for Kindergarten and Grade 1 families. Staff and faculty are also in attendance. This is followed by a New Parents evening reception - hosted before the start of school - to answer any of your questions and to help you meet other new members of the Stratford Hall family.
Each September, Stratford hosts a Welcome Back Picnic at Trout Lake Park. This gives families a chance to get to know one another as well as our staff.
In November, our faculty and staff check in with new parents at our New Parent Reception hosted at the school. Here, new families are able to ask questions and provide feedback about their transition into the school.
