Stratford Hall has aligned itself with several top organizations:
Authorization as an International Baccalaureate School requires extensive preparation by the school, followed by an inspection that involves experienced IB staff from around North America. The school’s responsibility is to design the program, within the framework set by the IB, and to train teachers. Typically, all teachers are trained at Level 1, with growing numbers training at Levels 2 and 3. Following authorization, the school is subject to monitoring visits every four years to ensure that the school still complies with all requirements of the IB.
The CAIS is a collection of the top 80 independent schools in Canada, with schools in almost every province. To join requires a formal application followed by a visit by at least two Heads of School. The CAIS looks at stability, governance and quality in its determination of membership. Stratford Hall is an active member of the CAIS, and its Head of School serves on the CAIS Board of Directors.
The ISA represents the university preparatory independent schools of British Columbia. Membership criteria are similar to the CAIS. Stratford Hall’s Head of School serves on the ISA executive.
The FISA is a body that represents 95% of all British Columbia independent schools. Stratford Hall’s Head of School served on the Board of Directors from 2004 to 2007.
Stratford Hall operates as a Group 2 School, under the Independent Schools Branch of the Ministry of Education. To maintain that standing, the office of the Inspector does regular assessments of school programs and operations.
