Vancouver is one of Canada’s most dynamic, multicultural cities, world renowned as much for its friendliness, and arts and culture as it is for its stunning natural environment. Stratford Hall is centrally situated so that Vancouver’s many amenities are easily accessible for students.
Our school buildings face onto Commercial Drive, one of Vancouver’s most vibrant streets. Public transit is very convenient for staff and students. Students can live as far as Surrey/North Delta and have an easy SkyTrain commute. City resources like Science World and the Vancouver Public Library are just minutes away by SkyTrain.
The concept of an urban school is one of connection to its surrounding neighbourhood. This connection is vitally important to Stratford Hall; we make the most of the many learning opportunities available in the city, and work closely with local businesses and social service agencies.
Two large parks provide excellent outdoor space for our students. Clark Park, across the street, has playgrounds and playing fields. Trout Lake, a block away, is one of Vancouver’s largest urban outdoor areas. It has a small lake, playing fields, a vibrant community centre and an Olympic-calibre hockey arena which will be used during the 2010 games.
In 2009, all students will study at the Commercial Drive location. The school owns two buildings. Grades 6 to 12 are in a 28,000 square foot facility that is open and bright. In 2009, the kindergarten to grade 5 students will move to a new 21,000 square foot facility up the street.
