For those who expect more than a traditional education.

A MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dean Croy

Dear Stratford Hall Community,

On May 15, the Minister of Education, Rob Fleming, announced that schools will be opening. We are very excited to be welcoming students back to school on Monday, June 1. We have been preparing for re-opening the school and are ready to provide a safe environment for teachers and students throughout the last three weeks of classes.

The school campus and schedule have been prepared to ensure the health and safety of our community members. The school has been thoroughly cleaned, and will continue to be thoroughly cleaned each school day.

Please take a moment and read through our Restart Plan which provides an overview of how we will welcome our students back to campus, ensure social distancing in the classrooms and common areas, and continually keep our facilities clean. Furthermore, please note the responsibilities of parents/guardians to ensure children are healthy and well-prepared to attend school each day.

RESTART PLAN

The plan includes our Health and Safety Guidelines and key highlights of our Exposure Control Plan (ECP) so that you are familiar with our protocols. You can find the detailed ECP document, a requirement of WorkSafeBC, here. It has also been placed in the Parent Portal along with our Flu and Illness Policy.

I understand that some parents are hesitant about having their children return to school. The Ministry of Health is confident that returning to school is safe but this return is voluntary. Please be assured that we understand and respect that different families will make different decisions, and we will continue to support all of our students via our online learning platform for the final three weeks of school.

I am pleased that we are slowly moving towards welcoming our students back to school before the end of the school year. I look forward to our students' voices and energy filling the school once more!

We are all in this together!

Your truly,

Dean Croy

Head of School

A MESSAGE FROM THE SENIOR SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Michelle Douglas

Dear Senior School Families,

Although many students have already taken home their belongings prior to Spring Break, this Thursday, May 28, Senior School students and families will have the opportunity to gather their personal effects from the MYP cubbies and DP lockers. With safety central, a schedule has been formulated to ensure the needed social distancing and cleaning routines are in place. Please follow the indicated times as closely as possible as it is designed for the safety of our community.

Please note the distancing protocols and signage outside of the MYP and DP buildings, with only one family member (if not the student themselves) entering the building to collect belongings. Furthermore, please sanitize your hands upon entry and exit. If you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to campus.

MYP/DP Schedule for picking up personal belongings.

All In This Together,

Senior School Principal

A MESSAGE FROM THE JUNIOR SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Michael Palmer

Dear Junior School Families,

Thank you for your ongoing support of Sabres e-Learning. We are now preparing for some of our students to return to school on Monday, June 1, and we are so excited to reconnect in the school building.

There are going to be a number of adjustments for students, and teachers will be taking time each day to support students in making these adjustments. Please note we have staffed the school to support all students as they continue with Sabres e-Learning while in the school.

Parents who send their children to school beginning next week are reminded that we will continue to use Clark Park as our outdoor activity area and, on occasion, students may walk to Trout Lake. Please send appropriate clothing and footwear on rainy days. All clothing and personal items will be sent home with your child at the end of each day.

Student Belongings

Parents are asked to please pick up PE shoes from the Junior School on Thursday, May 28 between 9:00am - 3:00pm. Ms. Janine will be in the building to support. We can only allow one parent at a time in the building. Parents are asked to be in and out as quickly as possible. All shoes remaining will be donated.

Parent Meetings

I will continue to meet with Junior School parents next week. Ms. Janine will be in touch regarding the date and time for each grade level.

I look forward to seeing Stratford Hall students and parents on Monday morning at the MYP building.

Kind regards,

Michael Palmer

Junior School Principal
