At Stratford Hall, Senior School students find themselves in a community of engaged learners who embrace new challenges, construct their own understanding of an increasingly complex society, and emerge as confident citizens of the world with a focus on international mindedness.
Students in Grades 8-10 are part of the IB Middle Years Programme that culminates in a Personal Project that has seen past Grade 10 students build a working telescope, construct a hovercraft, and develop an app that was then sent through the rigorous Apple application process. The MYP Personal Project allows students to pursue their passions and realize they are capable of doing anything they put their minds to.
At Stratford Hall learning is literally visible. Our new, open-concept MYP building was constructed with glass walls that open up so learning can be seen everywhere. The IB’s vibrant curriculum is student-centered and inquiry-based. Students are often seen working in groups on projects that stretch them academically, intellectually and personally. Students select from engaging and interesting electives such as Taiko drumming, Circus, Film, Photography and Sports Science, to name a few. We like to say that at Stratford Hall, learning feels different.
At the Grade 11 and 12 level, the IB Diploma Programme provides engaged students with a challenging and rigorous curriculum that prepares them for university and life beyond high school like no other program. Students select university-level courses in English, a second language, science, mathematics, the fine arts, and history or geography. Stratford Hall students often graduate with first year university credit and are admitted to universities around the world.
Strengthened by a long tradition of experiential learning and the IB curriculum, our teachers work together to foster learning experiences that prompt students to think critically and creatively, and that develop the skills needed to solve real-world problems, and to express their solutions to a sophisticated global audience.
The small class sizes and our caring, engaged and committed teachers as well as our state-of-the-art facilities make Stratford Hall a world-class environment for teaching and learning.
