Stratford Hall Annual Fund

The Annual Fund allows us to say YES to empowering our teachers with the tools and extra resources needed to prepare your child to be an effective contributor to society and even tomorrow’s leaders. As the school progresses to offer added opportunities for students, we must count on the Annual Fund to keep tuition affordable while maintaining a high quality educational program.

Like all independent schools, Stratford Hall relies on families, trustees and friends to help bridge the gap between tuition income and the cost of providing each child with an extraordinary learning experience. You can help provide this crucial support by making a tax-deductible contribution to the Annual Fund. Not only will your gift help to sustain the school’s programs, it will also send a powerful message to our children that anything is possible.

Our goal is to achieve 100% Board, faculty and staff, and parent participation. Please join me in making a donation. Your contribution, at any level, is significant.

We are positive that together, we can meet this year’s Annual Fund goal of 100% parent participation. Please also check to see if your employer offers a Matching Gifts Program - and double your donation dollars.

We invite you to say YES.

Alternative Donation Vehicles

Educational Investment Deposit (EID) Gifts: All Stratford Hall families are required to place an Educational Investment Deposit (EID) with the school. This non-interest bearing deposit is reimbursed to the family following the end of the school year in which their last child leaves the school. The EID is currently set at $20,000 per family. Stratford Hall families are encouraged to donate all, or a portion of, their deposit to the school in advance of their last child’s departure. Families who donate their entire EID will be granted membership into the Stratford Hall Leaders' Circle. Members of the Leaders' Circle are recognized on a donor wall in the PYP building. EID donations are obligated to be used directly towards the reduction of the school's $21million bank debt. A reducing debt load helps the school to open up finanicng opportunities for capital projects and expansion. All EID’s that are converted into a donation to the school qualify for an official charitable tax receipt. This enables families to realize the tax benefits of that conversion well in advance of their last child’s departure from the school. Upon signing a formal Transfer Agreement acknowledging a full or partial transfer of your EID, the school will automatically convert those funds into a Leaders’ Circle donation. For further information on donating your EID, please contact Isabel Sankaran-Wee in the Community Development Office.

Cash or Cheque: Personal cheques and credit card payments are the easiest way to make a gift to the Stratford Hall Annual Fund. Simply include your cheque and donor information and drop it off to the Advancement Office or mail it to the school at 3000 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, BC, V5N 4E2. Cheques should be made payable to Stratford Hall.

Gifts of Securities: Securities transferred to Stratford Hall are sold upon receipt and credited to the Stratford Hall Annual Fund. The charitable deduction is determined by the fair market value on the date of the transfer. An acknowledgement will be sent to you describing your gift, receipt date, and value for your tax records.

Matching Gifts: There are many companies that match their employees’ gifts. A list of companies with potential matching gift programs can be found here. If your company is not listed, please contact your human resources department for clarification.
