Everything you need to know about the Campus Transformation Campaign
As we look ahead to this exciting next chapter for Stratford Hall, we know our community will have questions. Here, you can find answers to common questions about the project, its impact, and how our community can get involved.
About the Campaign
It is a targeted fundraising effort to build an integrated Senior School for grades 6 - 12, anchored by a welcoming new main entrance and a heart of the school that strengthens our presence in the community and gives students and families a true sense of arrival. An important part of the project is increasing enrollment in the Senior School by 50% and creating a new home for the Primary School with 50% more space.
As Stratford Hall grows, particularly in the Senior School, more space and more choice are central to our evolution as a learning community. With growth also comes greater program breadth and increased faculty depth. More students and more space enable richer offerings in music, theatre, research, sport, debate, and beyond, bringing the full IB experience to life for every student. The new campus will increase enrollment in the Senior School by 50% and space in the Junior School by 50%.
Your philanthropic support will carry forward what makes Stratford Hall extraordinary. We rely on donations from the community to make this project a reality. Grant funding is not an option for this.
The Campus Transformation Campaign is dedicated to building the new campus. When you donate to Stratford Hall’s Annual Fund, you directly enhance our students’ learning experiences with tools, programs, projects, services, and capital needs that go beyond the day-to-day operating expenses covered by tuition.
Stratford Hall owns the land where all three buildings are situated. We have owned the land that currently houses the Annex (Middle Building) for 9 years.
Fundraising
Contributions can be structured however works best for you, including multi-year pledges, gifts of securities, donor-directed funds, sponsorships, estate planning, donations of the Education Investment Deposit, or other personalized arrangements.
We are undertaking a project with an estimated cost of $15 million to bring this vision to life. It reflects both the scale of what’s involved and the shared ambition of a community shaping the future of learning.
All members and stakeholders of the Stratford Hall community are invited to participate, including current parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the school.
Every gift strengthens the project and the school. We encourage donors to make a gift that is personally meaningful, leaves a legacy for future generations, and aligns with their philanthropic priorities and capacity.
Yes. Multi-year pledge commitments allow donors to make a larger impact through scheduled payments over a period of up to 5 years. The entrance threshold for pledged gifts is $50,000.
Stratford Hall Foundation is a registered Canadian charity. Donations are eligible for charitable tax receipts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency regulations.
Donors will be recognized according to their wishes. Exciting naming-recognition opportunities are available in the new campus. Other recognition opportunities include the Annual Report, Campaign publications, website, social media, and other communications and marketing materials. Anonymous gifts are always respected.
Construction
Stratford Hall will remain open, and all classes will continue during construction. Any modifications to space accommodations will be addressed as the project advances. We are committed to ensuring that school operations continue throughout construction with minimal impact on teaching and learning.
The safety of our students, staff, families, and visitors remains our highest priority throughout this work. The project area will be appropriately secured, and all activities will be carefully managed to ensure normal school operations can continue safely.
In addition to all required safety measures and site controls, dedicated full-time safety personnel will be present on-site at all times during work. These trained professionals will closely monitor the premises, oversee project activities, and ensure that all safety protocols are being followed to maintain a secure environment for our school community.
To further support student safety, project deliveries and vehicle movements will be carefully scheduled to avoid periods of student activity. No construction deliveries will take place during student drop-off or pick-up times, recess periods, or at times when students are regularly travelling between buildings. Work activities will be coordinated with the school's schedule to minimize interactions between construction operations and student movement, helping maintain a safe and orderly environment throughout the project.
At this time, student drop-off and pick-up areas are not expected to be impacted. Should any temporary changes become necessary, we will provide advance notice and clear instructions to families to help ensure a smooth and safe transition.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we undertake this exciting new phase in our school's growth and development.
While some construction-related noise may be unavoidable at certain points in the project, every effort will be made to minimize disruptions and keep noise levels to a minimum whenever possible, particularly during school hours. The construction team recognizes the importance of minimizing any disruptions to school life and will work closely with our leadership team to schedule disruptive activities outside core learning hours and implement additional mitigation measures. We will provide regular updates to families and staff to keep the community informed every step of the way.
Timeline
With everyone’s generous support, a successful Public Phase will allow us to break ground on construction in Summer 2027*. This date will enable us to meet campaign milestones, obtain the building permit and make demolition less disruptive to the life of the school. Construction will last 18 - 24 months with the new campus slated to open September of 2029.
*Dependent on city approvals.
The commitment to the project is unwavering. The initial campus plan to break ground in 2026 was based on an early timeline identified in a previous phase of the Campus Master Plan process. Since then, we’ve taken a more deliberate and disciplined approach, one that ensures planning, sequencing, design, approvals, and financial readiness are aligned so that construction can begin.
