Our Commitment

Health & Safety

Stratford Hall continues to follow Provincial Health Guidelines and Vancouver Coast Health advice, as described in the BCCDC Provincial Communicable Disease Guidelines for K-12 School Settings:

“COVID-19 will continue to circulate in our population and, as long as cases occur within our communities, K-12 students and staff members will continue to be affected. However, transmission within K-12 school settings accounts for a minority of COVID-19 cases even amongst students and staff. Moreover, with high immunization rates in BC and treatment options for people at higher risk of serious disease, COVID-19 can be managed as other respiratory infections in the community. Public health continues to monitor COVID-19 and review emerging evidence to modify guidance if needed."
The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our highest priority. We want the community to be absolutely confident that Stratford Hall practices the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness procedures for protection.

List of 1 items.

  • Health & Safety at School

We want our students, faculty, and staff to feel safe, comfortable, and confident while at School. The measures we have enacted to ensure their safety include:

    • Masks is a personal choice for everyone. People can choose to continue to wear a mask throughout the day or during specific activities. This choice will be supported and treated with respect.
    • Maintain frequency of cleaning, including classrooms and high touch areas.
    • Students are able to engage in co-curricular activities without restriction. For all group activities off campus, the school follows BCCDC Camp Safety Guidance.
    • Ensure heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are designed, operated and maintained to Occupational Health and Safety and WorkSafeBC standards.
    • Parents are allowed inside the School. All visitors are encouraged to make an appointment.
    • Hand sanitizers available throughout the School.

  • Cleanliness

To ensure the safety of all our students, faculty, and staff, we have enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols throughout the School. These measures include:

    • Maintain adequate sanitization, disinfection, and scheduled cleanings throughout the School.
    • Common use items sanitized after each use.
    • Use of Health Canada recommended products effective against the virus that causes COVID-19
  • For Our Faculty & Staff

We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all our faculty and staff. The measures we have enacted to ensure a safe workplace and that everyone will go home healthy at the end of every day include:

    • Personal protective equipment available for all faculty and staff to use at their own discretion.

What to do when sick and when to return to school

Staff, students, or other persons who are exhibiting new symptoms of illness (including symptoms of COVID-19 or gastrointestinal illness) should stay home and follow the BCCDC guidance.

If you have COVID-19, follow the BCCDC guidance on isolation measures.

If symptoms develop at school, parents/guardians will be contacted to bring their child home. A comfortable space separated from others is provided at the school. Anyone exhibiting symptoms related to a previously diagnosed health condition (e.g. seasonal allergies) can attend school.

Students and staff can return to school when they no longer need to self-isolate, symptoms have improved, fever has resolved without the use of fever-reducing medication, and they are well enough to participate in regular activities.

LET’S KEEP EACH OTHER HEALTHY AND SAFE

Prevention measures are in place to reduce the spread of communicable diseases including COVID-19. These include effective personal practices like health awareness, staying home when sick and regular hand cleaning. All students and staff should:
  • Get vaccinated
  • Practice health awareness
  • Stay home when sick
As per BCCDC guidelines, public health will continue to collaborate with schools on sharing public health information with staff, students, and families.
