March 19, 2020

I am writing in response to the announcement on Tuesday, March 17 from the Minister of Education, Rob Fleming, that all in-classroom instruction is suspended until further notice. This means that Stratford Hall will not hold classes in its building after Spring Break until the government declares it is safe to resume in-classroom learning.

We have been planning for this eventuality, and I am confident we will continue to provide excellent programming for our students. Prior to Spring Break, our teachers were preparing to work in collaborative virtual teams to deliver online learning engagements for the duration of the school closure. We are working diligently to ensure that we have the resources available to support our students and employees through these challenging times.

Online learning with students at Stratford Hall will commence on Wednesday, April 1. Students should be prepared to take part in online learning engagements that continue their course work and education. Teachers will check-in with students on Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31. More detailed instructions for each division of the school - Junior School and Senior School - will be sent out prior to April 1, so that parents can help their children be prepared.

There will no doubt be some adjustments to online modes of learning, but teachers are working collaboratively and will be seeking feedback from students and parents/guardians as online learning progresses. We ask for your patience as we work to create a learning experience for students that is enriching, while at the same time is reasonable in its demands on children and their families.

We will provide more information near the end of Spring Break as we finalize our plans for student check-ins immediately following the break. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me or your child's Principals. Thank you for your support and understanding. Stay safe.
