I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for your continued understanding and support of COVID-19 protocols in order to provide the best learning experience that we can to our students.

Along with a renewed sense of hope, 2022 has ushered in substantial shifts in the way COVID-19 is managed in BC, both for the general public and for the K-12 sector. As per our governing body, the Federation of Independent Schools Associations in BC (FISABC), here is a breakdown of what we need to remember:

Things that are OUT:

Contract tracing for school-related cases
Self-monitoring and self-isolation letters for close contacts
School exposures posted on the VCH website
COVID-19 School Exposure Reports
“Circuit breaker” closures
VCH ordered closures (except in rare situations, e.g., a declared outbreak)

Things that are IN:

Attendance monitoring
Functional closures due to staffing issues
Daily reporting of student and staff attendance to the Ministry of Education
Continuity of learning
Medical Health Officer ordered employee vaccine disclosures

Things that remain the SAME:

Please wear an appropriate mask (unless eating or drinking)
Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands
