January 25, 2022
I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for your continued understanding and support of COVID-19 protocols in order to provide the best learning experience that we can to our students.
Along with a renewed sense of hope, 2022 has ushered in substantial shifts in the way COVID-19 is managed in BC, both for the general public and for the K-12 sector. As per our governing body, the Federation of Independent Schools Associations in BC (FISABC), here is a breakdown of what we need to remember:
Things that are OUT:
- Contract tracing for school-related cases
- Self-monitoring and self-isolation letters for close contacts
- School exposures posted on the VCH website
- COVID-19 School Exposure Reports
- “Circuit breaker” closures
- VCH ordered closures (except in rare situations, e.g., a declared outbreak)
Things that are IN:
- Attendance monitoring
- Functional closures due to staffing issues
- Daily reporting of student and staff attendance to the Ministry of Education
- Continuity of learning
- Medical Health Officer ordered employee vaccine disclosures
Things that remain the SAME:
- Please wear an appropriate mask (unless eating or drinking)
- Please remember to wash or sanitize your hands
- We ask that all parents and students ensure they complete a daily health check prior to coming to school. Here is a copy of the Daily Health Check and What to Do When Sick guide as a reminder.
Thank you again for your continued support and confidence in Stratford Hall Faculty and Staff.
