SHPA welcomes new parents, organizes events for families to come together, and supports the faculty and staff in maximizing the learning experience for our children. We invite and encourage you to become involved!

Guide to Getting Involved and Giving

Volunteer Opportunities

Grade Representatives

Two representatives per grade, one per class, will act as liaisons between the SHPA Executive Committee and parents. Grade Reps help distribute communication to the class or grade from SHPA or teachers when needed, organize social events for the class, and act as an additional ‘welcome’ to new families.

Crossing Guards

Crossing Guards are vital safety volunteers who manage the flow of traffic during morning drop-off hours, ensuring our students can safely arrive at school.

School Events

Annual events include the Back to School BBQ, Terry Fox Run, Winter Fair, Grandparents and Grandfriends Day, Summer Carnival, and Parent Socials. In addition, parent volunteers organize appreciation events to recognize our faculty and staff throughout the year.

Cultural Recognition

Cultural Recognition volunteers celebrate the rich diversity of our multicultural community, which is central to the Stratford Hall experience. They identify cultural days or festivals of significance to our community, organize school decorations, and collaborate with teachers to integrate recognition into assemblies and classroom activities.
