September 15, 2020

Thank you all for your enthusiastic return to school after such a long absence. It is wonderful to see everyone again!

We have implemented a Transitional Remote Learning Programme from September 14 to 25. Please follow the guidelines below if you are accessing this programme:
  • Junior School - Remote learning packages in the core subjects (hard copy only) for Junior School students will be prepared each Tuesday and Thursday for the next two weeks and be available for collection between 3:45pm and 4:30pm at the entrance of the PYP Building. A homeroom teacher or resource teacher will respond to questions students or parents may have. Additional instructions will be sent in the first remote learning package.
  • Senior School - Senior School students will have access to ManageBac in order to engage in learning activities and daily lesson plans for each course. Students will also have access to their advisory teacher or a resource teacher if they have questions.
As we have shared with you over the last few weeks, we have many precautions in place to ensure that our students, staff and parents/guardians are as safe as possible. The one thing we ask is that all parents/guardians remain updated with and follow the Health and Safety Plan and Restart Plan. This is for the safety of our entire community. Please note changes to the Daily Health Check form and procedures relating to absences as communicated to the school by the BC Centre for Disease Control and Ministry of Education.

We have arranged for a parent webinar with Ms. Sandy Daniels, Infection Prevention and Control practitioner in most of the health authorities in BC, who assists employers in preparing work and school environments to respond to and manage environments during infectious disease outbreaks. We have been working with her since the pandemic started. I encourage you to send your questions in advance of the webinar and then listen to her responses on the webinar next Monday, September 21 at 6:30pm.

We will be holding our first virtual Kindergarten to Grade 12 Assembly of the year on Thursday, October 1. At this assembly, we will introduce the Class of 2021 (our Grade 12s) and the Class of 2034 (our Kindergarten class). We invite parents to join via Zoom to enjoy this assembly.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!
